School Shooting Hoax Ends In Charges For Pasco Teen: Police
Another teen was also charged with hiding the identity of the student who made the threat, according to authorities.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Two teens are facing charges after authorities said one joked on social media about shooting up a Pasco County school.
According to the Pasco Sheriff's Office, a 13-year-old student at River Ridge Middle School was arrested Friday after making the threat on Snapchat. Police said they took the teen into custody for threatening to kill or conduct a mass shooting, a felony in Florida.
Authorities also said they arrested and charged a River Ridge High School student with obstruction for hiding the identity of the student who made the threat.

Authorities said there was no threat to either school.
"This case serves as an important reminder that PSO investigates all threats and that threats made even as a joke have serious consequences," the Pasco Sheriff's Office said in a statement. "Additionally, PSO urges parents and guardians to speak with students about responsible social media use."
