Scooter Operator Killed In Crash On Holiday Lake Drive

HOLIDAY, FL — A 37-year-old Holiday man was killed Monday when the scooter he was operating was involved in a crash on Holiday Lake Drive.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 6:15 p.m., Matthew Thomas Brooks was riding a gas-powered scooter east on Holiday Lake Drive approaching the intersection of Viking Drive when a Jeep Wrangler driven by Mary Nora Ann Stevens, 56, made a left turn in front of him.

The scooter collided with the Wrangler, and Brooks died at the scene.

Charges are pending against Stevens.
