Sheriff Joins Hunt For 'Bigfoot'

The elusive creature reportedly went missing from a home in Marion County recently.

MARION COUNTY, FL — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has joined the search for a 9-foot Sasquatch recently reported missing by a homeowner.

Residents in the area of Lake Tropicana have no reason to fear, the agency insisted on Facebook. “We do not believe that Bigfoot is a danger to the community, but the owner of Bigfoot genuinely would like it back home,” the agency wrote.

The Sasquatch in question happens to be a 9-foot silhouette of the legendary beast. It seems someone went into the homeowner’s yard and swiped it.

“At this time, we do not have any large footprints to track,” the sheriff’s office wrote. “Bigfoot’s direction of travel is unknown. It was last seen wearing all-black and was playing a permanent game of freeze tag.”

Deputies also noted that this particular Bigfoot has its own distinct odor.

“This Bigfoot smells like plywood, which is very different than the regular undetermined Sasquatch smell.”

Anyone who happens to spot Bigfoot is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 352-732-9111. The hope is to return the creature to its proper home “before we have to call in the experts, like the crew on that TV show – Finding Bigfoot.”

As the sheriff’s office continues its search for the legendary creature, some Tampa Bay area residents have actually claimed to have had run-ins with the beast. Early last year, a canoeist at Tampa’s Lettuce Lake Park filmed footage of what some said could be the real deal. A Tampa fisherman also reportedly had a close encounter of the Sasquatch kind along the Hillsborough River.
