The sheriff's office also released video footage from the body cameras worn by deputies, including Stone. It shows the moments leading up to the gun battle inside the home and the efforts to save Stone's life.
At 12:25 a.m. June 8, Pasco deputies were called to a home in the 7300 block of Humboldt Avenue off Seven Springs Boulevard and State Road 54 in New Port Richey after 62-year-old Terrance Peterson got into an argument with his wife and shot her Amazon Alexa.

Peterson barricaded himself in the house for an hour as deputies attempted to end the standoff peacefully. When Peterson refused to surrender, deputies entered the home and Peterson fired several rounds at them.
The femoral artery on Stone's thigh was nicked by a bullet causing him to nearly bleed out. Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco credits Stone's fellow deputies and neighbor, Pasco County firefighter Bill Ricci with saving his life by placing a tourniquet on his leg.
Deputies retreated after Peterson began firing his gun and sent a robotic device equipped with a video camera into the house to locate Peterson. When Peterson was found, deputies launched a tear gas canister into the home and apprehended Peterson, who shot himself in the head.
Peterson later died of the self-inflicted injury.
Stone, a deputy since July 2017, was transported to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point where he underwent surgery.
Pasco Sheriff's K9 JR thanks Pasco firefighter Bill Ricci for helping to save the life of his handler, Deputy Christopher Stone.
