HUDSON, FL — Although the medical examiner has yet to make a final determination, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said a preliminary examination of skeletal human remains discovered Tuesday does not suggest foul play.

The remains were found in a heavily wooded area near U.S. 19 and New York Avenue in Hudson. Detectives say the remains appear to be those of an adult, but they have not established the identity of the person.

The sheriff's office said it could take weeks before the identity and cause of death are determined.
