Spring Hill Man Accused Of Raping 10-Year-Old He Met On Snapchat

SPRING HILL, FL — A 22-year-old Spring Hill man remains behind bars today after being accused of raping a 10-year-old girl he met through the social media app Snapchat.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, Austin Wyatt Altman of Tiger Trail was charged with sexual battery, interference with custody and violation of probation after Pasco County Sheriff's deputies said he picked up a 10-year-old girl he'd been in contact with through Snapchat at her home in Hernando County and brought her to his home in Spring Hill.

There, Altman began to sexually molest the girl despite her repeated protests, deputies said. When she struggled, deputies said Altman held her down by her throat.

During an interview with detectives, Altman admitted to the rape.

He's being held without bond at the Land O' Lakes Detention Center.
