Spring Hill Man Accused Of Repeatedly Striking Child With Paddle

A Spring Hill man is facing aggravated child abuse charges after being accused of repeatedly hitting a 6-year-old on the bare buttocks.

SPRING HILL, FL — A 43-year-old Spring Hill man is facing aggravated child abuse charges after being accused of repeatedly hitting a 6-year-old on the bare buttocks with a wooden paddle.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, David Miles Jr. was arrested Dec. 20 after they said he struck the child's buttocks with a homemade wooden paddle, causing extensive bruising, nearly to the point of bleeding.

Miles is not the child's parent or legal guardian.

He's being held in the Land O' Lakes Detention Center on $100,000 bond.
