State Representative Mike Fasano Requests Public Hearing for Proposed Citizens Rate Increase be Held in Tampa Bay Area

In a letter to Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty, State Representative Mike Fasano has requested that the Office of Insurance Regulation schedule public hearings to be held in the Tampa Bay Area.  Citizens Property Insurance Corporation has requested a large statewide rate increase. 

“It is imperative that policyholders in the Tampa Bay area, who may be impacted by these potential rate increases, be given every opportunity to weigh in on the issue,” Representative Fasano comments.  “I receive calls on a daily basis from constituents who are struggling to pay existing premiums.  With those who carry full sinkhole coverage the burden could be immense.”
