Stripper Accused Of Beating Up Fellow Stripper At Desire Club

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- A 37-year-old stripper was arrested after being accused of beating up another stripper and stealing an electric power meter off the wall of the Desire Club in New Port Richey.

Christie Caratini-Mendoza of Land O' Lakes was charged after a fellow stripper at the club at 3935 Grand Blvd. said she punched her in the face several times with a closed fist, then threw her to the ground and began kicking her.

Pasco County Sheriff's deputies said the victim had visible injuries to her face, leg and arm.

Caratini-Mendoza is also charged with grand theft. She is accused of ripping the Progress Energy electric power meter, valued at $350, off the outside wall of the club and hiding it from club managers. While searching through Caratini-Mendoza's purse, a deputy found it entangled in the stripper's wig.

She was taken to the Land O' Lakes Detention Center where bond was set at $2,500.
