Man In Stolen Car Shot, Injured By Pasco Deputy: Sheriff

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A man in a stolen vehicle was shot by a Pasco County Sheriff's Office deputy after the man fired at deputies pursuing him, the sheriff's office said Wednesday morning.
Authorities were investigating a stolen vehicle near Rowan Road and Trouble Creek Road in New Port Richey around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday when the man with the stolen vehicle tried to flee while firing a handgun at deputies, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
One deputy returned fire and struck the suspect, the sheriff's office said, adding that no deputies were injured. The man suffered injuries that were not life threatening.

The suspect is in custody and multiple charges are pending, the sheriff's office said.
