During the month of February Pasco Tax Collector Mike Fasano's five offices will be partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay.

During the month of February Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano’s five offices will be partnering with Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Tampa Bay to encourage advance sales of specialty tags that will help advance mentoring programs not only in Pasco County but throughout Tampa Bay and the state. Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Tampa Bay serves Pasco, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Citrus, Hernando and Sumter Counties. Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Tampa Bay is best known for matching adult “big brothers” and “big sisters” with “little brothers” and “little sisters” who are in need of adult mentoring and companionship.
Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, which is part of one of the oldest mentoring programs in the nation, needs to sell 1,000 vouchers before the State of Florida will put the specialty plate into production. The five branches of the Pasco County Tax Collectors Office will be promoting the sale of Big Brothers/ Big Sisters tag vouchers throughout the month of February. The cost of the voucher is $25 dollars, which is above and beyond normal registration and related fees.
“The goal of Big Brothers/ Big Sisters is to help kids succeed through one-to-one mentoring by our volunteers who are called ‘Bigs,’ “states Stephen Koch, President & CEO of Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Tampa Bay. “We are honored to partner with Mike Fasano and the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office to spread the word of our work in Pasco County, our need for more volunteers to work with the more than 100 kids on our waiting list, and to promote our beautiful new license plate! “Each month our office highlights a charitable organization that provides important services in our community,” Tax Collector Mike Fasano states. “In February we are proud to help shine a spotlight on the needs of children in our community who need adult guidance in their lives. Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Tampa Bay has a long and established history of helping matching children with adults who can help them with everything from academic tutoring, social skills training and, most of all, companionship with a person who may otherwise be missing in their lives. The sale of the vouchers during this promotion will help bring the specialty tag closer to reality for this tremendous program.”
Individuals who purchase the specialty plate voucher will receive their tag once the plate goes into production. The tag can be placed on newly registered vehicles or can replace an existing plate.
