Teacher Pops Off Profanity-Laced Letter Over Gum in Class

The Florida English instructor has since been suspended.

It’s no secret the underside of high school students’ desks often look like science projects gone horribly awry with pink, white, blue and even green globs of gum dangling like stalactites just waiting to fall on unsuspecting victims.

The sticky status quo seems to have set off an English teacher at Arnold High School in Panama City Beach. Fed up with the disgusting state of affairs, the 17-year veteran educator fired off a profanity-laced letter to his students recently, addressing the not-so-savory habit and perceived lack of respect for him and fellow students, the Palm Beach Post reported.

Erik Cobb’s letter was posted in his classroom and addressed all students reminding them the tables in his class are theirs and not his. But, despite repeated requests to refrain from the nasty behavior, students continue to put gum under their tables, he pointed out.

“Apparently this is too much for your worthless [explicative] brain,” he wrote, according to a copy of the letter obtained by the Panama Beach News Herald.

Cobb went on to warn students that each time he spots gum under the tables going forward, cellphones will be banned and essays will be required.

“Please, pretty please, with a whole [explicative] cherry on top, quit putting your gum under my table,” the letter concluded.

The letter earned Cobb a four-day suspension from Bay District Schools, the Palm Beach Post noted.
