Teen Struck By Pickup Truck While Crossing Little Road
A 16-year-old Fivay High School student remains hospitalized after being struck by an F150 pickup truck.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 16-year-old Fivay High School student remains hospitalized after being struck by an F150 pickup truck at the intersection of Schader Blvd and Little Road in New Port Richey Tuesday morning on his way to school.
Michael Taiwo of Port Richey is listed in serious but stable condition.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Taiwo was struck when he darted across the northbound lanes of Little Road shortly after 7 a.m. Taiwo was wearing dark clothing and the 57-year-old driver, J. Lino Saldivar Nieto, 57, of Port Richey, didn't see him until it was too late, according to troopers.

The teen was taken to Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point as a trauma alert following the accident.
At this time, the driver is not facing any charges.
