Troopers Believe Pickup Truck Involved In Fatal Motorcycle Crash

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information on a pickup truck involved in a crash that killed a New Port Richey motorcyclist.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information on a pickup truck involved in a crash that killed a New Port Richey motorcyclist on Oct. 17.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 9:45 p.m. the 66-year-old motorcyclist was traveling north on Rowan Road near the intersection of Ballie Drive when the motorcycle overturned and the rider was ejected. He died at the scene.

Troopers now believe that a late-model Ford pickup truck changed lanes and entered the path of the motorcycle, causing the rider to lose control.

The vehicle is described as silver with a full-size bed. The truck appeared to be slightly lifted with rear tinted windows.

The driver was described as a white man with dark hair, 25 to 40 years old.
