Video: K9 Team Takes Down Hudson Man Who Threatened To Kill Woman

A Pasco County Sheriff's K9 helped take down a man who was threatening to kill a woman, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

HUDSON, FL — A Pasco County Sheriff's K9 helped take down a man who was threatening to kill a woman, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Early Wednesday morning, Pasco Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call regarding a domestic battery in Hudson in which a man was battering a woman. During the investigation, deputies learned that the man was also sending text messages threatening to kill the woman. He also threatened law enforcement. There was an unserved domestic violence injunction against him out of Hillsborough County.

The man fled from deputies when they attempted to make contact with him in his yard. K9 Deputy Jeremie Garcia and his partner, K9 Farrell, apprehended him. The man continued to struggle on the ground, including reaching into his waistband, before being taken into custody.

Cody Wade Griffin, 29, of Coyote Road, Hudson, was charged with resisting arrest and written threats to kill.
