Video: New K9 Recruit Proves He Has Right Stuff

Three juveniles who were burglarizing vehicles in Hudson were apprehended with the help of one of the sheriff's office's newest K9 recruits.

HUDSON, FL — Three juveniles who were burglarizing vehicles in Hudson were apprehended with the help of one of the Pasco County Sheriff's Office's newest K9 recruits, Maus.

On Friday, Pasco Sheriff's Office units responded to a burglary of a vehicle in progress. When deputies arrived, they saw three juveniles who matched the description of the 911 caller fleeing the area.

One juvenile, whose been arrested 19 times in Pasco County, was immediately apprehended but the other two juveniles ran into a wooded area.

A perimeter was set up and Deputy James McCabe and his partner, K9 Deputy Maus, who joined the sheriff's office last month, responded to search the area.

In a short period of time, Maus located the two other juveniles, and they were taken into custody. Patch is not releasing the names of the juveniles who are 16 and 15 years old.

The sheriff's office released body camera footage of Maus apprehending the two juveniles.
