NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Keep Pasco Beautiful is currently seeking volunteers for the Great American Cleanup Saturday, March 7 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers for this national event are needed countywide to pick up litter and debris along roadways, waterways and public spaces.

“Dedicated volunteers make this an annual success story,” said Keep Pasco Beautiful coordinator Kristen King. “We’re seeking more team captains this year to help us further organize and expand our footprint.”

Pasco County has been part of the Great American Cleanup since 1992. In 2019, 675 volunteers picked up 18 tons of trash at 29 locations throughout Pasco.

"The event is a great opportunity for high school students to earn community service hours," said King. "Participants can join one of the existing teams located throughout the county, or create their own group to focus on a specific area."
