Dr. Mehmet Oz doesn’t just play a doctor on TV, he also plies his skills in real life.

The cardiac surgeon turned television personality proved that Thursday when a medical emergency arose during a speaking engagement at Jacksonville’s Avenues Mall. Oz was at the busy mall as part of his “The Good Life” tour.

It seems a woman in the crowd fainted and Oz wasted no time swinging into action.

A witness video released on YouTube shows Oz addressing the crowd when a cry sounded out, “We need a doctor.”

Oz was skeptical for just a split second, asking, “are you serious,” before climbing over a planter and railing to reach the woman.

The woman, who has not been identified, was conscious when Oz arrived by her side, but he stayed put until EMS made it onto the scene, Fox News reported.

Oz is also credited with helping two people during a recent crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. In that case, Oz is credited with stabilizing a person’s spine while providing first responders with details about the victims’ injuries.

Oz has come to the aid of injured people before. In 2013, Oz assisted emergency responders when a taxi jumped a curb and struck a pedestrian near his New York TV studio, according to app.com.
