Woman In Wheelchair Struck By Car On State Road 52

BAYONET POINT, FL — A 45-year-old Land O' Lakes woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a car while crossing State Road 52 near Laredo Drive in a wheelchair.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, on Friday at 7:45 a.m., a 19-year-old New Port Richey woman was driving west on State Road 52 when the Land O' Lakes woman in her wheelchair entered the path of her car.

Due to Marsy's Law, approved by Florida voters in 2018 to protect the identities of crime victims, the Florida Highway Patrol has chosen to no longer release the names of those involved in traffic accidents.
