Rupert the rabbit - he came to nibble at my thoughts and heart, tickling and tickling until I finally turned my full attention to him, to learn what he had to say. And WOW! - was I ever surprised!
It was never my intention to write a children's book, but it was certainly his intention to have me teach children about the Wheel of the Year. And so I have. We started with Beltane, my furry friend and I, then we worked our way throughout the seasons and Sabbats. And when I was done, I shared his stories everywhere.
To my great surprise, many wanted to know where they could buy these stories for themselves. It was with even greater surprise - if that was possible - that within one hour of submitting his stories to Schiffer Publishing, the president of the company himself wrote and asked me for more!

That, however, was not the end of the surprises. Oh no - not at all! Very soon after that, an artist by the name of Tonia hopped into our lives and presented me with the picture you see above, showing me exactly what our delightful friend looked like.
And so were the first three Rupert's Tales titles created. The first book tells stories of Beltane, Litha, Lammas, and Mabon. The second has tales about Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, and Ostara. And our third title is an Activity Book with pictures to color from both of these books. But this is not where our story ends. Oh no! Not at all! Rupert has much, much more to teach us all, I can tell you that!

We have just released "Rupert's Tales: Rupert Helps Clean Up" which has four stories in which Rupert learns about reducing, reusing and recycling. If that isn't enough, you should know we will have a brand new book in 2014 with four bedtime stories in it. And that, my friends, is why the time has come to be able to have your very own Huggable Rupert - so you can hold and hug him while you read about Daragon the dragon, Brody the bat, Rachael the raccoon, Marissa the mermaid, Ulna the Unicorn and many more of Rupert's new friends - and their adventures in learning how important it is that you get a good night's sleep, and how you can control your own dreams so they are sweeter than ever before.
You Asked for Rupert
And Oh - how we want to bring him to you! By contributing $25 or more, you are actually purchasing your own Huggable Rupert in advance. It's really that simple.
Behind all the pictures and perks, behind all the spreadsheets, the videos, and the fine print, what we really need to do is to have enough Friends of Rupert to pay $25 in advance for a Huggable Rupert (or two) of their own. Sure, it would be absolutely delightful to have a few major donors along the way who believe in what we’re doing to help the project come to fruition – who wouldn’t want that? But I believe it is the Moms and Dads and Grandparents (aunts and uncles too!) who have come to love our furry friend and his tales who are going to help us reach our goal.
When all is said and done, there is simply no way that I can NOT do my very best to bring all of us (me too!) a Huggable Rupert of our very own. So here is the link where you can go to find out all about our campaign:

Or, you can go to www.indiegogo.com and do a search for “Huggable Rupert.”
That’s where you’ll find all the perks and videos and pictures. All the bells and whistles too.
We are also pleased to announce we are donating $1 to Circle Sanctuary for every Huggable Rupert sold (or pre-ordered) for as long as they are sold. We hope that will be a very, very long time to come! We are delighted to be contributing to an organization which we feel beautifully represents what Rupert brings to the world: acceptance, education, advocacy, understanding. For more information about the exhaustive listing of what THEY bring to the world, please visit their website here: https://www.circlesanctuary.org/
