• Warm Mineral Springs Park renovation funding heads to final vote (mysuncoast.com) — North Port commissioners are weighing a more than $4 million budget increase for major renovations at Warm Mineral Springs Park, with a final vote set for July 7. The plan would fund historic building rehabs, floodproofing, and site upgrades that residents have long requested to preserve the park’s character while improving the visitor experience. 
• E-riding to school next year? This new policy might affect you (yoursun.com) — Sarasota County Schools are moving forward with a new policy to regulate e-bikes and other electric personal transport on campuses, and the School Board advanced it during a meeting at North Port City Hall. If adopted, students riding e-bikes, scooters, or hoverboards to school would face speed limits, parking rules, and possible confiscation or discipline for violations.
• Sarasota's only Popeyes survives as Bradenton locations close (heraldtribune.com subscription) — While many Florida Popeyes locations are closing after a franchisee’s bankruptcy, the North Port restaurant on South Tamiami Trail remains open. Sarasota’s lone Popeyes is also staying in business as new owners take over dozens of locations statewide, even as nearby Bradenton stores shut their doors.
