• 5 arrested after drug raids of 2 homes in Okeechobee County (wpbf.com) — Law enforcement in Okeechobee County recently raided two homes on Northeast 29th Terrace, seizing fentanyl and drug paraphernalia and arresting five adults. A 9-month-old child present during some alleged drug activity was found healthy but removed from the home due to unsafe conditions. Several of those arrested face fentanyl distribution and child neglect charges, following weeks of narcotics investigations.
   

• SAR installs new president (lakeonews.com) — A local heritage group in Okeechobee has chosen new leadership, with Gary Kirsch installed as the 2026-27 president of the Okeechobee Chapter Sons of the American Revolution. The ceremony, conducted by chapter registrar and chaplain Don Hanna, highlights ongoing activity in this community organization. • Wiccan Jailed For Refusing Christian Rehab Terms, Pending Reassignment (flaglerlive.com) — A man on probation who had been placed at Faith Farm’s Okeechobee rehab facility was ordered back into custody after refusing to comply with the program’s Christian requirements. The judge ruled his noncompliance violated probation and plans to reassign him to a different, state-approved treatment program while he’s held in jail. The case raises questions about religious expectations in court-ordered rehab.
