• Blue-green algae reported in Lake Okeechobee by Florida DOH in Glades County (gulfcoastnewsnow.com) — Health officials have detected a blue-green algae bloom in Lake Okeechobee and are warning people and pets to avoid discolored or foul-smelling water until tests are complete. Residents are urged not to swim, drink, or cook with affected water and to keep animals away from the lake. The state is sampling the bloom and will update results as conditions change.
