1. Families defeated Governor Ron DeSantis in litigation over Florida mask rules in a ruling on Friday. Judge John Cooper of Florida's Second Judicial Circuit ruled school systems may order mask mandates and that the Governor's ban on mandates overstepped his powers. (St. Pete Patch)

2. A judge in Volusia County has died from COVID-19, according to Sheriff Mike Chitwood. Judge Steven Henderson first served the area in 2012. He is survived by his six children and his wife. (Click Orlando)

3. The Timucua Arts Foundation will host its 1,000th concert today at 7 p.m. at its SoDo concert venue. It was originally launched by Benoit Glazer and his wife Elaine Corriveau. Glazer is a former Cirque du Soleil music director. (Bungalower)

4. Universal Orlando has revealed its special menu of more than 20 dishes and drinks focused on its haunted house themes to coincide with the opening of Halloween Horror Nights on September 3rd. 5. A Florida doctor at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee has been fired after the hospital learned he was charging $50 to schedule a screening with families who don't want their children wearing masks at school. He said he would sign a medical opt-out letter for them. He operated his own business and was not working on behalf of the hospital. (Orlando Patch)
