Trader Joe's Opening Another New FL Location

ORLANDO, FL — Popular grocery chain Trader Joe's is opening yet another Florida location, expanding its footprint in the Sunshine State.

This comes a few weeks after it was announced the big box store planned new locations in West Palm Beach, Sarasota and Tampa. The latest store will be opened on an unreleased date at 1444 North Alafaya Trail in Orlando.

"We've consulted our maps and compass and have found a terrific location for a store in Orlando, FL. We are proud to be joining the neighborhood, and to continue our commitment to providing nourishment to the surrounding communities through our Neighborhood Shares program. Our crew is working hard so we can open our doors," the company said in an announcement.

Trader Joe's currently has locations in 27 Florida cities. The new Orlando store will be the second for the central Florida town, where Trader Joe's has opened a site at Sand Lake Road.

The flourishing chain has revealed at least a dozen new store openings since February in Georgia, New Jersey, California, Connecticut and other states.

When the company chooses to open a new store, it takes into account population density and draw, site access, traffic patterns and parking, marketing executives Tara Miller and Matthew Sloan said in a 2024 episode of the Inside Trader Joe’s podcast, according to the episode transcript.

“This is very deliberate, and for us, what's important is that it's controlled growth,” Sloan said in the episode, according to the transcript. “We have to grow in a way that fits our business model.”
