Park Maitland School Competes in YouTube Live Maker Challenge

A team of fifth graders worked together to try to build the fastest propeller cars as they competed against two other schools

On May 14, eight fifth grade students from Park Maitland School participated in a Tri-State YouTube Live Maker Challenge sponsored by Maker Spaces—an organization that helps create collaborative work spaces inside schools that use high tech to no tech tools for making, learning, exploring and sharing. Students were provided common materials and challenged to build the fastest propeller cars in a given amount of time, while competing against teams from two other schools in Florida and streaming live on YouTube. Park Maitland School encourages innovative 21st century learning and connecting with others to grow.
