Park Maitland School Donates 1,500 Gifts to Toys for Tots

Representatives from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve stopped by Park Maitland during a schoolwide assembly to pick up the donations

During a schoolwide assembly on Dec. 20, students at Park Maitland School presented representatives from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve with a donation of more than 1,500 gifts they collected for the Toys for Tots program. Students began their annual toy drive for Toys for Tots on Dec. 2 and worked together to collect a variety of gifts for children of all ages. The gifts were distributed to children in need in the Orlando area. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to the community.

Toys for Tots, a 70-year national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, provides happiness and hope to less fortunate children during each holiday season. The toys, books and other gifts collected and distributed by Marines and volunteers offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory for a lifetime.
