Park Maitland School Packs 25,000 Meals for Children in Need

Students raised $8,900 to fund healthy meals they packed to benefit children in Florida through Feeding Children Everywhere

On Feb. 13, students and staff at Park Maitland School participated in a school-wide effort to pack 25,000 meals for local children in need. Throughout the school year, students held a variety of fundraisers – including necklace sales, skating parties, a garage sale, a miniature golf event and more – in order to purchase healthy meal kits from nonprofit Feeding Children Everywhere. In total, students raised $8,900 to buy the meal packing supplies. During the event, students and staff packed the meals in three different groups throughout the morning by setting up assembly lines in Park Maitland School’s gym. The meals packed will be donated to local organizations Christian Service Center and Servant's Heart Ministry.

Feeding Children Everywhere (FCE) activates people for a hunger-free world. Since 2010, FCE has mobilized hundreds of thousands of volunteers at corporations, businesses, universities, faith-based organizations and more to package tens of millions of meals for hungry people in the U.S. and around the world.
