• Saturday's two lottery winners, one worth $10 million, sold at Publix stores (miamiherald.com) — A Clermont Publix sold a Fantasy 5 ticket worth over $120,000, and the winner will need to claim it at the Florida Lottery's Orlando district office in Casselberry. Another Publix shopper in Spring Hill hit a $10.75 million Florida Lotto jackpot, which must be claimed at lottery headquarters in Tallahassee, giving Central Florida residents a close-to-home reason to check their tickets.
   

• Opera Orlando will stage a new production of Madame Butterfly in October 2026 (wftv.com) — Opera Orlando is bringing a new production of Puccini's "Madame Butterfly" to Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center on October 2–4, giving local opera fans three chances to see it. With a strong international cast and behind-the-scenes preview events, the production opens the company's new season and offers Orlando residents an accessible way to experience grand opera downtown.
   

• Rehabilitated manatee Lalo returns to the wild after boat strike recovery (wftv.com) — Orlando readers may be glad to know SeaWorld Orlando's animal care and veterinary teams helped a badly injured manatee named Lalo recover and return to the wild. Rescued in 2025 after a severe boat strike, she underwent multiple surgeries, long-term rehabilitation, and careful monitoring in Orlando before being released back into her natural habitat.
