• Andrea's Scholars (floridaweekly.com) — Two Pahokee Middle-Senior High School graduates, Martrell Mincey and David Roa, have been named 2026 Andrea’s Scholars, earning full-tuition support for engineering studies at major Florida universities. They’re among 31 students honored by the Andrea C. Cameron Foundation, which has now funded dozens of Palm Beach County scholars through college and workforce programs.
   

• Glades Central Community High School, Pahokee High School teens win state track titles (wptv.com) — Pahokee readers can cheer junior sprinter Jamaria Richardson, who just brought home a state championship in the 400-meter dash for Pahokee High School. Just down the road, Glades Central sophomore E’tesia Forbes repeated as 100-meter state champ and added a 200-meter title, giving the Glades two of Florida’s fastest young runners.
   

• Watch: Frontier Airlines Passenger Restrained On Flight to Chicago After He Attempted to Open Emergency Exit at 32,000 Feet (paddleyourownkanoo.com) — A man identified as being from Pahokee is facing serious federal scrutiny after passengers and crew restrained him on a Frontier Airlines flight from San Juan to Chicago, which diverted to Miami. Authorities say he tried to open an emergency exit mid-flight and allegedly assaulted an off-duty flight attendant, leading to state charges and the possibility of a lengthy federal sentence.
