Team's Bus Breaks Down on Way to Big League World Series
The Big League All Star team had to wait for a replacement bus in Georgia, after their bus broke down Monday.
District 12's Big League All Star Team was thrown a curveball during Monday's road trip to the Big League World Series in Easley, SC. The team, which includes players from Dunedin, Clearwater and Largo Little Leagues, clinched a spot in the Big League World Series when it won the Southeast Regional Championship last week.
Monday morning, the team flew to Atlanta, then boarded a bus for the trip to Easley, where World Series opening ceremonies are scheduled to begin Wednesday. But, the bus broke down near Duluth, GA, and the team wound up hanging out at a nearby mall until a replacement bus arrived, according to a mother of one of the players.
The team is back on the road and is scheduled to arrive in Easley late Monday afternoon. Their first game is Thursday.
