Big League All Stars Headed to World Series
The District 12 Big League All Stars clinched the Southeast Regional Championship on Tuesday evening in Ft. Lauderdale.

A group of talented local teens is headed to the Big League World Series after clinching the Southeast Regional Championship on Tuesday evening.
"We did it, we won!" Ann Dingman told Palm Harbor Patch over the phone Tuesday night, shortly after the District 12 All Stars won the championship game by beating South Carolina 4-2 in Ft. Lauderdale.
Dingman is the mother of Jesse Dingman, 18, a Palm Harbor University High grad who plays first base for the District 12 squad.

The Big League World Series will be held July 25 through Aug. 1 in Easley, SC. "They are so excited," said Dingman of the players.
Tuesday turned out to be a very dramatic day for the team. They had made it to Monday's semifinals, but that game was stopped Monday evening because of rain. The team finished the semifinal game Tuesday morning, then went on to clinch the southeast title Tuesday evening.

Florida's District 12 League includes teams from West Pasco, Holiday, Tarpon Springs, East Lake, Oldsmar, Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Countryside, Safety Harbor, Clearwater, Largo and West Pinellas.
