Update: Palm Harbor Man Died in Water Near Oldsmar Park Boat Ramp
The investigation began as a rescue early Wednesday morning.

The body of a man has been found in the waters near the Oldsmar Park boat ramp.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, a water rescue call came in around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies, along with the U.S. Coast Guard, and officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported to the scene and a helicopter was flown in to search for the person.
The rescue, however, turned into a recovery when FWC officers found a man’s body in the water just before 9 a.m., an email to media from the sheriff’s office stated.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man was Anthony Norton, 25, of Palm Harbor. Witnesses say Norton jumped off the boat ramp at National Orange Avenue and Lafayette Boulevard intentionally.
The investigation continues.
