Jingle tills, jingle tills etc etc

I am delighted to be able to post that beginning on 26 December, the Christmas season will officially be extended.   After all, this current season started early enough - in fact, didn't I see reindeer with Easter baskets?  I'm sure I did. I know I saw a portly figure wearing red, white and blue shorts and brandishing candy canes on the 4th July.  I have it on the best authority that  Santa is no longer going to be a December snow bird, he is re-locating permanently to the beach, and may well transfer his allegiance from penguins and elves to flamingos and out of season fishermen.  All of you people up North have had more than your fair share of St Nick, so now it's our turn.  Whether Santa leaves the North pole and flies south, or gets off his beach towel and jogs north should not alter the outcome.  It's silly to expect the jolly old gentleman to get all his deliveries out in one night, and we down here in the sunshine state have been campaigning for years to get this season recognised as an 'all year' event.  Decorations for yards, houses, palm trees, Christmas trees, and even cars, have been out in full force for ages. in fact, I don't think they ever left the store shelves.  Many of us will join the ranks of the demented AFTER Christmas to take advantage of the special sale prices, so that tills may continue to jingle right up until 24th Dec, 2013.  The Black Friday shopaholics can join in these festivities, and can camp out all year round instead of just a couple of days during Thanksgiving.  Let's spread the wealth folks - this way, if you miss a bargain, it won't matter 'cos there'll be another one, and another one and another one all year long.

Just think, all those letters to Santa that flood the mail service during December, would now be spread throughout the whole year, making it easier for Santa to get them read. This will take the pressure off him, so he can take his time getting presents wrapped and delivered to the 'nice' people, and the 'naughty ones' can have a whole year to think about changing their ways, not just a couple of weeks.  So 'Tis the season to be jolly' could be sung all year round, along with 'Jingle tills'.
