"Living on Island Time"

"Living on Island Time..."

"If I tap my shoes three times..I don't want to be home, I want to be at "The Ozona Pig."   Last week, I was driving around in this new city I call home.  I had no technology to help me with directions.  I had a radio and sunshine and that was all I needed.  I decided to drive down Tampa Road to see the beach.  The Locals have told me on a daily basis to hit up the beach and check it out.  I like local people..they are friendly, easy-going and live on "Island Time."  As I drive down the winding road, I came across something special nestled in a cozy corner.  It was a quiet little treasure I found.  The smell drew me in before I witnessed with my eyes. It was magical, endearing and alluring.  As I drove up..low and behold... before my eyes..was a quaint BBQ restaurant..under lovely Florida Mossyhead trees. This adorable little BBQ spot is layed out on a tiny street called Orange Street in Palm Harbor..which leads to the beach at Honeymoon Island.  It was... "The Ozona Pig".  The crisp and clean wooden front porch greeted me. The smell hypnotized me and led me straight in.  I received a large welcome when I stepped inside.  There was local art on the walls, families laughing, happiness and BBQ were everywhere hand in hand.  The business was friendly and full of Southern charm that will make you smile all day!  I left with a pound of pulled pork that I took home to the family.  The joys of being new to the city, is in finding unexpected little treasures.  "It was BBQ worth fightin' for."
