Columnist Tim Bryce's Latest Book A Hit With Seniors

Longtime Palm Harbor Patch columnist Tim Bryce is attracting attention with his newly released book, "Tim's Senior Moments."

PALM HARBOR, FL -- Longtime Palm Harbor Patch columnist Tim Bryce is attracting unexpected attention with his newly released book, "Tim's Senior Moments."

“This is my 14th book," said Bryce, who has been writing for more than 40 years. "Over the years, I have written for young people, techies, managers, political junkies, just about everybody, except seniors. So, I wanted to write something special for their particular interests. It is something I always wanted to do since I turned 60. The book is designed to be a great reading companion for seniors, and will make them laugh, think and bring back many memories."

The Palm Harbor resident, well-known for his blog, "The Bryce is Right!," has written for the Tampa Tribune, Huffington Post and News Talk Florida in addition to Patch.

"I tend to write about those things people either overlook or take for granted," he said.

This latest book is striking a chord with Tampa Bay's large senior population.

"The book is filled with observations of the foibles of life we must all experience, sooner or later," he said. "It addresses those items we tend to overlook or take for granted, such as dogs, drugs, doctors and our perspective on life. There are both humorous and serious essays on history, nostalgia, athletics, and the nuances of life that make it worth living.”

The book has led to a number of television and radio interviews including WTSP-TV 10 "Great Day Live" and WFLA-970AM with Jack Harris.

"It's interesting the reaction I am getting on this," he said. "I think I hit a hot button with this one."

Bryce didn't have to look far to find an illustrator for his book. Well-known illustrator C.F.Payne has been a friend for more than 50 years.

"He and I have crossed many streams together in search of trout," said Bryce.

Bryce is hoping the book will lead to a lecture series for seniors.

"I have already been contacted by a senior living facility in New Tampa that wants to contract me to lecture there," he said. "This should be fun."

The book is published through Amazon and is available in print form ($25), Kindle eBook ($9.99) and PDF ($9.99).
