The Gulf Coast Folklife Center says George Soffos may be the best bouzouki player born outside of Greece. Learn to play the bouzouki (an instrument similar to the lute and a mainstay of modern Greek music) from Soffos, who has performed traditional as well as popular and classical Greek works.
There are a few instruments available for students. Please call to reserve one if needed.
