Help Catch A Palm Harbor Thief

PALM HARBOR, FL — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is looking for some help identifying a man its deputies say stole a woman’s purse from her car and then began using her debit cards.

According to the agency, the victim pulled into the Speedway Gas Station, 33600 U.S. 19, in Palm Harbor around 11 a.m. March 16. She went inside after filling up her tank, but left her doors unlocked and her purse sitting on the seat. When she returned, her purse was gone, an email from the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies say a man was seen getting out of a white Dodge Durango, entering the woman’s car and taking the purse.

A short time later, the man used the woman’s debit card at a Circle K and then went to a Walmart and used it to buy items. He also took cash back on the purchase, the sheriff’s office said. Surveillance cameras captured video of the same man and white Dodge Durango that had been seen at the Speedway, deputies said.
