You may not realize how much important stuff you have on your computer. Taking a few minutes to prepare your computer for a storm now can ensure all that important stuff is not lost for good!
When you're scurrying around stocking up on supplies in preparation for an approaching storm, the last thing that may be on your mind is preparing your computer!

At the very least, copy important text, photo, audio and video files to an inexpensive flash drive.

If you are not going to use your computer, make sure it is turned off and unplugged (for surge protection).
Then batten down your hatches.
