Baseball Team Supports Young Cancer Survivor

PHUH Hurricanes honored 6 year-old Kaiden Crowther by having him throw the ceremonial first pitch at the team's season home opener. Of course, it was a strike!

He's only 6 years-old and he's not as tall as the players on Palm Harbor University High's baseball team, but no doubt, Kaiden Crowther is considered a member of the team.

The Hurricanes have been rallying around Kaiden Crowther ever since he was diagnosed last year with ATRT, a rare form of cancer. Crowther is the son of PHUH Hurricanes' former pitching coach, John Crowther. The Hurricanes baseball team dedicated their 2011 season to Kaiden.

On Monday, Kaiden got to throw out the ceremonial first pitch -a belt high fastball strike- during the Hurricanes' home opening game against the Largo Packers. The PHUH Hurricanes Baseball Team won the game 5 to 4.
