Local GOP Group Joins Area Christmas Parades

Palm Harbor Safety Harbor Christmas Parades GOP NPRC Republican

DEC 16, 2017 - Members of the North Pinellas Republican Club (NPRC) were out in force in local Christmas parades, handing out candy and beads to hundreds of people lining the streets of Safety Harbor and Palm Harbor. These small town parades have been enjoyed by locals for many years and the NPRC uses them to spread cheer and show their support for the communities in the northern part of Pinellas County.

"It's just a fun way to give back to our communities," said Ron Ogden, the NPRC coordinator for the parades, "To see the faces of the people along the parade route, particularly the little ones, is a very rewarding experience."

Many NPRC members walked or rode the parade routes. Special mention should be made of the efforts of Sylvia Sullivan who coordinated the Safety Harbor parade. In Palm Harbor, Jim Cooper donated the use of his trailer and provided carpentry support. Elizabeth & Demitri Posner worked tirelessly on the design of the float, along with Kristin Chambers. PCREC Secretary Pam McAloon was also active in the preparation of the float.

Also marching in the Palm Harbor parade with NPRC was Ed Hooper, candidate for Florida Senate District 16. Ed was joined by his lovely wife Lee, and supporters Mari Riba & Quyen Le Trujillo.

The participation in local Christmas parades by NPRC is growing each year. We hope to eventually be represented in other towns next year, including Dunedin and Tarpon Springs.
