Local Students to Perform in Prestigious Competition

Five Palm Harbor teens are finalists in the 9th Annual Walker's Rising Stars Scholarship competition.

Five Palm Harbor teens will showcase their talents at Ruth Eckerd Hall during the Walker's Rising Stars Scholarship Competition on May 24.

The teens are among 25 Pinellas County high school juniors and seniors who were selected as finalists in the prestigious competition.

Scholarships up to $5,000 will be awarded to solo performers in the areas of dance, drama, vocal music, instrumental music, and visual arts; and to groups of up to 3 students for video arts.

The Walker's Rising Stars Scholarship Competition Finals will be held at 7:00 p.m. on May 24 at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Tickets can be purchased at the Ruth Eckerd Box Office, by phone (727) 791-7400 or online. Tickets are $10 in advance for adults and $12 the day of the show. Tickets are $5 for seniors and students.
