Man Injured in Lake Tarpon Boat Crash
Rescuers say he lost control of his boat and hit a stand of trees.

A 66-year-old man was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center following a Monday night crash on Lake Tarpon.
The man was driving his boat around 7 p.m. near the Rue Des Lacs subdivision when he lost control, East Lake Fire Rescue Chief Tom Jamison wrote in an email to media. The boat crashed into some trees.
East Lake crews were able to get to the boat and move the man so he could be airlifted to the hospital, Jamison said. The man’s injuries are described as serious. Fire rescue did not release his name.
