A bicyclist has died in the hospital from injuries suffered when she was struck by a car July 8 around 4:30 p.m.

PALM HARBOR, FL — A bicyclist has died in the hospital from injuries suffered when she was struck by a car July 8 around 4:30 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 63-year-old woman from Palm Harbor was riding a bike east across Alternate U.S. 19 near Delaware Avenue in a signalized crosswalk that was not activated when she entered the path of a car driven by a 79-year-old New Port Richey man.
Despite evasive maneuvers to avoid a collision, the passenger side mirror of the car struck the bicyclist.

She was airlifted to the hospital where she died two days later.
