Palm Harbor Dermatology is pleased to announce the addition of Rachel Careccia, M.D. as one of six Board-certified dermatologists at the growing medical practice.
Dr. Careccia is a Board-certified dermatologist who adds another level of experience to the team with an additional Board certification in dermatopathology, which means that she has advanced training in understanding skin disease at the microscopic level. In addition, she has a special interest in complex medical dermatology.
"Dr. Careccia’s dermopathology expertise aligns with our plans to expand our laboratory capabilities with the addition of a Northwest Tampa office this fall. She will have a key role in leading and growing our pathology team,” said Dr. Amy Ross, president of Palm Harbor Dermatology.
Dr. Careccia has published articles on dermatology topics in peer-reviewed medical journals, including Archives of Dermatology, American Family Physician, Dermatologic Surgery and Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
Before joining Palm Harbor Dermatology, Dr. Careccia worked as a dermatopathologist and dermatologist at a well-respected regional dermatopathology laboratory.
She completed her internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at Baptist Medical Center at Wake Forest University. Her dermatopathology fellowship was conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
