Pat's Place Grows its Gluten-Free Menu

Patti Dooley, owner of Pat's Place, adds affordable options to the restaurant's gluten-free menu.

In addition to its already revered signature gluten-free pizza, Pat’s Place, which serves authentic Greek cuisine, is proud to announce it has expanded its gluten-free menu with affordable options. “As a gluten-intolerant person I know what it’s like to walk into a restaurant only to discover it has no gluten-free options,” said Patti Dooley, owner of Pat’s Place. “To ensure our patrons never feel that way at Pat’s Place, we regularly seek out ingredients and items to offer that are gluten-free, and have added to our gluten-free menu. Additionally, I am always looking for new items to bring in, especially something for the sweet tooth.”

New gluten-free menu items at Pat’s Place include wraps, chicken gyros, certain soups and all but one of its salads. “We kept most of the gluten-free prices the same as our regular items,” said Dooley. “Most restaurants tack on a higher price because they can. The gluten-free world wants good, safe food, and will, if necessary, pay extra for it. I don’t like that idea. I don’t want to take advantage of someone, especially when they don’t have other options and need to eat.”

In addition to catering to its gluten-intolerant clientele, Pat’s Place recently made a number of necessary renovations to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Pat’s Place made two bathrooms wheelchair-accessible as well as lowered the countertops to enable any customer access to the community-minded restaurant. “We do everything in our power to make everyone feel they are welcome at Pat’s Place,” said Dooley.
