Pedestrian Dead in Palm Harbor Crash

The wreck happened late Monday evening on U.S. 19.

A 42-year-old Tampa man was killed Monday night while attempting to cross U.S. 19 near Alderman Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was walking west across the southbound lanes of U.S. 19 around 9:58 p.m. when the crash occurred. Troopers say the man, who has not yet been identified, walked into the path of a southbound Mazda 3, driven by Brandon Ford, 39, of Dunedin.

The pedestrian died at the scene, troopers wrote in a report. Ford and his passenger were not injured.
