Wiley and the Hairy Man is a childrenβs play about a young boy who must confront his fears to triumph over the villainous hairy man and in doing so, he discovers his own potential in the face of danger.
What makes the play unique is its chorus. In addition to mirroring Wileyβs nightmares, the chorus movedΒ to form a "living set" of tables, chairs, and fireplace.Β When the script demanded a swamp, the chorus began babbling, howling and moaning.Β When Wiley searched for lumber to make a dog house, the chorus formed tree, complete with branches, roots, and a trunk.
