Resident, Passenger Die When Tesla Crashes Into Palm Harbor Home
A 69-year-old woman died in her Palm Harbor home Friday night when a speeding Tesla lost control and crashed into the house.

PALM HARBOR, FL — A 69-year-old woman died in her Palm Harbor home Friday night when a speeding Tesla lost control and crashed into the house. The Tesla's driver and three passengers were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. One of the passengers later died.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 10:21 p.m., a 43-year-old Palm Harbor man was speeding in a 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid north on Manning Road, which was not on autopilot, approaching Hermosa Drive, when he ran a stop sign, struck an embankment and became airborne before crashing into the house at 1498 Caird Way.
The Tesla penetrated the exterior rear walls of the home and struck one of three people inside.

The driver and his three passengers, a 43-year-old Odessa man, a 48-year-old man from Aurora, Illinois, and a 28-year-old man from New Port Richey were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The man from Odessa later died.
