Restaurant Review: Fairway Pizza
Fairway Pizza offers some solid pizza choices for hungry diners.
After covering the over the weekend, I decided to scope out . Fairway hosts the fundraiser every fourth Saturday of the month and allows volunteers to use their parking lot to benefit animals. I am a firm believer in community activism and was already interested in Fairway Pizza after discovering this detail about them.
Fundraiser participants receive a free beverage at Fairway Pizza after they pay for a dog wash, and it makes for a good way to enjoy some lunch while your dog is cleaned and groomed. Upon entering the restaurant, Fairway Pizza gave the ambiance of a typical sports bar and restaurant with a touch of community flavor.
I was quickly seated and brought a menu and a beverage. My waitress was very pleasant and helpful as I looked at the menu. I decided to have the garlic bread and ordered some marinara dip at her suggestion. The garlic bread quickly came out and made for a decent starter. The marinara sauce was thick like pizza sauce and was a great dip not just for my garlic bread appetizer, but also for my entree.

I checked out the restaurant while I waited for my pizza. Fairway Pizza stays busy with different events during the week. Trivia Night seems to be a popular local choice based on suggestions I found online. Two deals that caught my eye were 1/2 off appetizers after 9 p.m. and all-you-can-eat spaghetti for $4.99, Sunday through Thursday.
My pizza arrived a short while after I ordered. I decided to stay traditional with a small 11-inch cheese pizza for $6.79. From their large list of additional toppings, I added pepperoni and mushrooms at $1.39 each. The pizza went perfect with the marinara dip and I would recommend it to diners.

The cheese tasted similar to a cheese I have experienced at . The pepperoni and mushrooms were both great, and I found some parmesan cheese provided to be a nice finishing to the pizza. While this Fairway Pizza pie may not be one of the best pizzas I have experienced in Tampa Bay, it was a solid pizza that would make for a good lunch, especially if you are visiting the Suncoast Animal League Dog Wash.
Fairway Pizza has a number of lunch specials and various other deals that I would like to try in the future, especially their pasta choices. My waitress was very good at her job and provided exceptional service throughout the entire meal and was a pleasure to dine with. Overall, I would recommend Fairway Pizza to Palm Harbor residents.
