Sandbags Available for Pinellas Residents
They'll be available starting Saturday morning.

Residents of unincorporated Pinellas County who want to batten down the hatches in case Tropical Storm Erika heads this way are getting some help.
The county has announced it is providing sandbag materials at no charge starting Saturday morning.
Sandbags may be picked up at the following locations between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday:

- John Chesnut Sr. Park, 2200 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor
- John S. Taylor Park, 1100 Eighth Ave. SW, Largo
- Lealman Park, corner of 39th Street North and 54th Avenue North
Additional sites may be added if the storm continues to head toward the region.
The county will provide shovels and bags. Residents must fill their own bags and are limited to 20 per person. Proof of residency or business location is required. Residents of incorporated areas should check with their local governments for sandbag available.
